Review Policy

Effective April 14, 2026

Reviews on PepHookup help patients pick a provider. This policy describes who can leave a review, how we moderate them, how providers can dispute one, and the rules we enforce so the system stays honest. It follows the FTC’s Endorsement Guides for online reviews.

1. Who can leave a review

  • You must have a PepHookup account and be signed in to leave a review.
  • You may leave one review per provider. You may edit or delete your own review at any time.
  • Providers cannot review themselves, and related parties (employees, family, business partners) should not leave reviews.

2. How we moderate

Every new review and every edit to an existing review is held in a pending state until an administrator reviews it. We approve reviews that represent a genuine first-person experience. We remove or reject reviews that:

  • Contain spam, profanity, or targeted harassment.
  • Include personal health information, diagnoses, or treatment details that could identify another patient.
  • Make clinical claims about outcomes we cannot verify (for example, specific efficacy percentages or medical advice).
  • Appear to be written by someone with a financial or personal relationship with the provider.
  • Are clearly not based on a real interaction with the provider.
  • Violate our Terms of Service.

We don’t edit reviews for content or tone. If a review doesn’t meet the criteria above, we reject it rather than rewrite it.

3. Provider dispute process

If you’re a listed provider and you believe a review violates this policy, email support@pephookup.com with:

  • A link to the review, or the date and reviewer name.
  • Which part of this policy you believe it violates.
  • Any context that helps us evaluate it (for example, a reason to believe the reviewer never interacted with your practice).

We acknowledge disputes within three business days and usually resolve them within seven. We do not remove reviews simply because they’re negative. We remove reviews that violate this policy.

4. No incentives, no paid reviews

  • PepHookup does not pay for reviews, ever. No provider, no patient, no employee.
  • Providers must not offer discounts, gifts, credits, or any other consideration in exchange for a review on PepHookup. This includes indirect offers such as “leave us a review and we’ll throw in your next visit.”
  • Providers may remind patients that reviews exist and ask them to share honest feedback, positive or negative. They may not pre-screen reviews before submission.
  • Reviewers must disclose any material connection to the provider (employment, family, financial interest). We will remove undisclosed connections.

Violating this rule puts a provider at risk of having their listing removed from PepHookup.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as PepHookup grows and as FTC guidance evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above.
